Artist Showcase: Michelle Izquierdo

Michelle Izquierdo earned her BFA from the University of Maryland. She draws inspiration from the vibrant images and different textures observed in everyday life. She’s exhibited her work throughout the Mid-Atlantic as well as New York and London. An abstract artist based in Washington D.C., Michelle loves creating artwork with bold colors and hints of texture. She feels colors can express ideas and invoke feelings that sometimes words just can’t, which is why she’s drawn to using so much color in her work. Michelle also loves incorporating texture into her pieces because she loves the idea of people secretly “petting” the artwork when it’s on display. Her works aim to capture the vibrancy and tactile qualities of the everyday world around her.
